It is very important to keep good oral hygiene. With good oral hygiene, you will be able to prevent some of the expensive and painful dental problems. For most people, recommended frequency for hygiene visit is once in six months. During the visit, apart from dental cleaning - polishing - flouride treatment, dentist will check your teeth and take X rays, if necessary. This will help you maintain your teeth in good condition and diagnose any upcoming teeth decay or any other problem in the early stage. Some people with periodontal problem (gum disease) will need more frequent hygeine visits.

For children, dental sealant may be applied to help prevent teeth decay. Regular dental visit will also help to identify any orthodontic (Braces) problems in early stage that might be resolved by interceptive orthodontics.

Apart from regular dental hygiene visits, regular brushing and flossing is important.
